This blend wants to express the potential of the company’s lands rich in minerals, where international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot can express themselves with the unique, typical characteristics of the Maremma area.

Harvesting is carried out exclusively by hand in different periods, beginning with the Merlot grapes in early September and ending with Cabernet Sauvignon in the last ten days of the month.

Each grape variety is macerated separately, mainly in bottomless barrels and low-capacity wooden vats, and is accompanied by manual punching-down and constant temperature controls. The obtained product is then aged for a 1st and 2nd passage in French oak barrels (225- 400 litres) for 12-16 months, after which it is bottled and left to rest for another 8 months.

When poured, it has a very intense garnet-red colour and the gradual oxygenation opens a bouquet with a good complexity ranging from herbaceous notes of bell peppers and red fruits, to distinct spices such as pepper, up to sweeter notes such as vanilla. It has a good persistence and pairs well with game and blue cheeses.
